CDC Grant

CDC Grant

Men Against Breast Cancer from 2003 to 2008 was awarded the first Centers for Disease Control (CDC) cooperative agreement to enlist men in the fight against breast cancer. The CDC grant to MABC for 1.2 million dollars enabled MABC to bring its successful Partners In Survival program to underserved African American, Latino and Native American communities. This grant was the first to recognize the positive benefits of educating men on how to provide critical day-to-day emotional, mental and physical support and care to their wives, mothers, partners, daughters and other loved ones stricken with breast cancer.
